Michael Watkins and Katherine Sims Team Up for Transformers #36 Rebel Base Exclusive
Highburn Studios’ Michael Watkins adds another cover to his Transformers portfolio with a Rebel Base Comics & Toys exclusive variant for Transformers #36. Featuring Soundwave, the cover combines Watkins’ artwork with colors by Katherine Sims, marking her first cover credit as a color artist—an exciting milestone in her comics career.
The collaboration puts the Decepticon favorite in the spotlight, offering readers and collectors a special edition of Skybound and Image Comics’ ongoing Transformers series.
Released September 9, 2026, Transformers #36 concludes a story arc with a surprising development: Thundercracker joins the Aerialbots as a new version of Superion makes its debut. The publisher’s preview also teases Cobra-La, raising the stakes even further. Written by Robert Kirkman, the issue features interior artwork by Jason Howard and colors by Mike Spicer.
Fans can check with Rebel Base Comics & Toys for availability or order the exclusive directly from Highburn.com.
